Concerning the book by Frederick Lewis Weis and Walter Lee Sheppard,
Jr.,entitled *Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came
to America before 1700, The Lineage of Alfred the Great, Charlemagne,
Malcolm of Scotland, Robert the Strong, and Some of Their Descendants*
(Formerly *Ancestral Roots of Sixty Colonists Who Came to New England
between 1623 and 1650), 7th edn, 1992:
The Table of Contents is not very informative. It consists of eight
very general categories. This is followed by a somewhat more
informative table of "Ancestral Lines" consisting of 11 general
titles of royal lines (plus 2 categories called "Additional Lines").
There is, however, on p xi-xii, a table called "Lines of Immigrants
Discussed in this Volume, consisting of the names of 69 immigrants,
followed by a table called "Lines Disproven, Unproven or Doubtful"
with 8 names. Is this the sort of thing you would like to see
posted? I expect it would not violate copyright protection, and
in fact would be a kind of advertisement for the book. I'm
willing to do this, if it's what you have in mind.
I expect that if this book published by Genealogical Publishing Co.
of Baltimore is out of print, they will be reprinting it??? I've
seen ads offering it from genealogical bookstores, e.g. one from
Tuttle of Rutland VT. Of course, they may be sold out, too.
