Can anyone help solve a family mystery? The story concerns a Louis de St.
Etienne, supposedly of a French noble family aruond the time of Charles V.
Louis saves the life of the King, and is given the title of Baron. The
future generations live in a Chateau outside Paris, until the French
Revolution, when the Baron is killed, and the Baroness flees to the Rhine
country with her infant daughter Elizabeth. Elizabeth was known in our
family has Elizabeth de Wolfe. Was there a Baron de Wolfe, or Le Loup?
I'd appreciate any information or advice on where to begin research.
