Can anyone straighten out the following??
I have seen this version of Charlemagne's ancestors,
Clovis 'the Riparian', King of Cologne
Childebert, King of Cologne
Sigebert 'the Lame', King of Cologne
Cloderic 'the Paracide', King of Cologne (d. 509)
Munderic of Virty en Perthois
St. Gondolfus
Bodegeisel II (Arnoldus), Markgrave of the
Schelde (d. 601) m Oda
St. Arnulf, Bishop of Metz (582-640) m Dode
Ansegisel of Metz m Begga, dau. of Pepin of Landen
Pepin of Herstal
Charles Martel and his mistress, Rotrude de Treves
Pepin 'the Short', King of the Franks m Bertrade de
Laon
Charlemagne.
Another version agrees from Pepin the Short back to
Bodegeisel II, then it is quite different.
Dagobert II
Clodius IV
Marcomir
Pharamond & Argotta (instead of Clovis the Rip)
Clodio & Basina
Meorvius
Childeris I
Clovis The Great & St. Clotilda
Blithildes (instead of S. Gondolfus)
then Bodegeisel II
etc..
I have no original sources for either of the two
versions, they are a composite of several postings on
Fido and these Newsgroups.
