I don't believe that the proposed Banu Qasi line through Oria,
daughter of Musa b. Musa can be sustained. According to Juste
(1980, p. 91), this Oria married Garcia, a Basque prince who died in 859
at the Battle of Clavijo. Fortun Garces, though his wife's name was
Oria, lived considerably beyond 859; he was king of Pamplona until
905, when he was deposed. Furthermore, Oria and Garcia had a son
named Musa (Juste, p. 91; this is the only child mentioned), while
the list of children of Fortun Garces given by Lacarra (1945, chart at
end of article) includes no Musa. [Incidentally, the Banu Qasi were
Muslim but not Arab.]
