This is my first post here (since I just found this group)
so I don't know if this has been discussed yet but...

I have found out that my last name (Stiff) comes from a
Jute chieftain by the name of Stuf. I was wondering if
anyone knows anything about the Jutes (I believe he was
alive in the 500s or 600s A.D.) or if anyone can point me
in the direction of some info on them. I'm very interested
in this part of my heritage (a dream of mine is to travel
to the England and Scotland where half of my ancestry is
from...alas...I haven't the money right now...) so any
information would be greatly appreciated. You can either
