Out-of-Print Genealogies:How Reliable Are They?

Hosted by Barbara J. Mathews, CG

Barbara J. Mathews, Certified Genealogist and Vice President of the
Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) has decades of
professional research, writing and experience evaluating information
from a variety of sources, including published family histories. Join
her as she discusses “the good, the bad and the ugly” of published
family histories and how these important resources should be used carefully.

In addition to being the Verifying Genealogist for the Massachusetts
Chapter of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America since
1993, Research Assistant on the New England Historic Genealogical
Society’s Great Migration Project, and her many other professional
roles, Barbara is hard at work updating the massive Welles genealogy for
the Ancestors and Descendants of Governor Thomas Welles of Connecticut.
Barbara is well versed in mismatched parents and children, generation
