Date: Mon, 17 Jul 2006 02:46:04 EDT
Colleagues
The next meeting of the Oxfordshire Family History Society will be held on
Monday 24 July 2006 at the usual venue at Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington,
Oxford OX5 1AB.
Doors open at 7.15 pm for coffee, help with both genealogy and computers, as
well as the bookstall, library and exchange journals.
The subject of the talk at 8.00pm is "From Reformation to Emancipation –
Catholic Recusancy in Oxfordshire". This will be presented by Tony Hadland. Tony
is the author of the celebrated "Thames Valley Papists", as well as being an
executive committee of this society. During the day, Tony is kept busy as
Curator of the Vale and Downland Museum at Wantage. He is a leading authority on
Roman Catholicism in Oxfordshire, meaning that this should be a talk not to be
missed.
All members, potential members and their guests are welcome.
