Family History at the Archives

The California State Archives, Genealogical & Historical Council of
Sacramento Valley and Root Cellar, Sacramento Genealogical Society are
hosting Family History Day at the Archives Saturday, October 15. This full
day event is free to the public and will feature genealogy classes, tours of
the Archives, Internet research techniques and preservation techniques.
Local genealogical societies, lineage societies and historical societies
will have exhibits and their members will be on hand to discuss the
resources they offer the public. Root Cellars library, located on the
fourth floor of the Archives will be open for research during the full hours
of the event, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Family History Day at the Archives will culminate Archives Week, a weeklong
celebration of the State Archives offering tours, book signings and
lectures. Family History Day also celebrates Family History Month. For a
