Subject: Monthly meeting of the Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society

The Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society will be meeting on Saturday, September 17th. at 10:00 a.m.

The speaker will be Susan Harmening from the Lake County Surveyor's Office who will be speaking on what the Surveyor's office has to help a genealogist. The main emphasis of her talk will be on how to understand legal land descriptions and how they are plotted on maps. This information will be of value in all states and counties using Township, Section and Range legal property descriptions for plat maps and property deeds.

The meeting will be held in the basement conference room of the Lake County Library, 1919 West 81st. Avenue (Rt. 30), Merrillville, Indiana.

Visitors are always welcome.
