The Federation of Genealogical Societies and the Utah GenealogicalSociety offer "Reminders of the Past; Visions for the Future" aconference for the Nation's Genealogists September 7-10, 2005 at theSalt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, as a very specialeducational opportunity.
This is a unique opportunity to utilize all the new found knowledgeyou acquire at the conference immediately at the Family HistoryLibrary, one of the major, if not the major genealogical researchinstitution during the extended hours at the Library.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM
Along with the many sessions that offer a wealth of knowledge,including presentations about collections at the Family HistoryLibrary, the 4 days of the conference will include lectures by some ofyour favorite educators such as Paula Stuart-Warren, Linda Geiger, AnnCarter Fleming, Tom Jones, Kay Haviland Freilich, Michael John Neill,Pamela Boyer Porter, Elissa Scalise Powell, Elizabeth Shown Mills,Claire Bettag, Beth Stahr, Barbara Matthews, Curt Witcher, plus manymore. These sessions will cover research methodology, sources,computer topics, and other very exciting material.
EXHIBIT/VENDOR HALL
The exhibit/vendor hall will be in the conference center, offeringover 150 of the newest genealogical products, demonstrations of someof the newest software, books, preservation products and much, muchmore. There are luncheons, dinners, and a banquet for sustenance andopportunities to meet "living people" in between looking for deadones.
EXTENDED RESEARCH HOURS AT THE FAMILY HISTORY LIBRARY
In addition to the full day attending lectures, luncheons, and exhibitbrowsing; the Family History Library will be open extended hours theevenings of the conference. Opening their doors, the FHL staffwelcomes conference goers who want to utilize the world-renownedresources after of full day of learning. Many of the lectures willreference sources available at the Library. Having this ability toutilize the sources while the examples are fresh is added value ofhaving a national conference in this great location.
