Subject: Next week's Oxfordshire FHS meeting
Date: Wed, 1 Dec 2004 17:08:34 EST
Colleagues
Just a reminder that the next meeting of the Oxfordshire Family History
Society will be a computer meeting, to be held on Monday 6 December 2004 at Exeter
Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, Oxford OX5 1AB. Doors open at 7.15pm, with the
presentation due to start at around 7.30pm.
The subject of the talk is "A family history tour with GENUKI", by Malcolm
Austen. Those of you who are familiar with GENUKI will be aware that it is a
structured collection of genealogical information pages for England, Wales,
Scotland, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. GENUKI is a registered
charity, and the information is totally free for individuals to access online
and to use. Want to know about changes in county boundaries over the years ?
Want details of the archives and libraries situated in Oxfordshire ? Want to
know about probate in Lancashire ? GENUKI has answers to all of these questions
and much, much more !
However, please don't take my word for it. Discover GENUKI for yourself by :-
1. coming to Malcolm's presentation. He is a trustee of GENUKI, and one of
its founders. He's passionate about it, and will give a great talk.
2. visiting http://www.genuki.org.uk/ and testing it to your heart's content
!
All members, potential members and their guests are welcome at this
presentation, and there is no charge for admission.
