During the the month of October at the California Genealogical Society in Oakland, CA. We will be having a month of events to encourage genealogists and the community to come to our library. This is our first year celebrating Family History month.

Here are some of things that are happening:
a.. During the month of October there will be no library use fee for non-members.
b.. For the 5 Saturday's in October Bette Kot will be teaching a beginning genealogy course. People are welcome to come to one or all of the classes.
c.. The library is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. At 1:00 on each day, there will be classes offered on various topics.
The 1:00 lectures are listed below. We hope you will tell friends and new genealogists about the classes and come yourself if you are in the Oakland East Bay area. It is very easy to take BART. ( 19th or City Center Stations) Directions are on the website. There are free parking places on Saturday. Weekdays there is a parking lot about three blocks from the library that has early bird parking $5.00 for all day IF you arrive before 9:00 AM.

We encourage people to come to classes and spend the rest of the day researching.
Please feel free to bring a bag lunch and eat with other researchers.
