What: Green Valley Genealogical Society All-day Seminar
Who: Speaker Michael John Neill, author of a weekly column on genealogical research for the world's most popular genealogical ezine, "Ancestry Daily News" and columnist on web-based research strategies for FGS' quarterly newsletter, "Forum." He is second vice-president of the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors. Neill is coordinator and instructor for the annual week of genealogical computing workshops at Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, IL, Part I studies coordinator the Genealogical Institute of Mid-America, and part-time instructor for the Union Institute.

Topics:
* "Researching the Entire Family" This lecture will discuss techniques for researching the entire family to ensure that you have found as much about your direct line ancestors as possible. The answers to your questions may be hiding in your collateral kin.
* "Court Records" This lecture will provide an overview of the main types of court records used by genealogists and present a search procedure for working with court records.
* "I Found it: Now What?" Getting a document is only the first step. In this lecture we discuss how to fully analyze records after you find them in order to obtain even more information.
* "Problem Solving Applied to Genealogy" This lecture will discuss some data organization techniques to help genealogists get as much out of each pile of records as they can.
