Regular Meeting of East Texas Genealogical Society, Tyler, TX
Saturday, August 9, 2003
Tyler Public Library - Taylor Auditorium
2:00 p.m.
Speaker: Elizabeth Nitschke Hicks
Program: "Law Library Research"
Many researchers would like to search for information about their ancestors
at law libraries but need to know more about the various legal documents
before they begin. Guest speakers, Elizabeth Nitschke Hicks, will discuss
various records such as the First Decennial Digest and State Reports. If a
complete table of American Cases from 1658 to 1906 interests you, you'll
want to attend this meeting.
Ms. Hicks is a descendant of pioneer Germans of Austin and Travis counties.
She is the originator and manager of the "Angels" program for the Clayton
Library Friends, and is currently serving as a Director. She is a
professional genealogists and the genealogy editor for the German-Texan
Heritage Society. She was a past contributing editor for "Tree Talk", the
publication of the Cherokee County Genealogical Society.
Following the program there will be refreshments.
The Computer Interest Group of the East Texas Genealogical Society will not
meet this month.
