James Conroyd Martin, Chicago area high school teacher and author of "Push
Not the River" will speak at the November 10 meeting of the Polish
Genealogical Society of America (PGSA).
The novel is based on the recently-discovered 201 year old diary of the
Countess Anna Maria Berezkowska, and chronicles Poland's glorious past, full
of castles and manor houses. It covers the period beginning with the Third
of May Constitution, 1791-94 and the political struggles that followed.
The meeting will take place Sunday, November 10 at 2 PM in the Social Hall
of the Polish Museum of America, 984 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago,
Illinois. Admission is free and all are welcome.
