APG NEWS BULLETIN:
PMC EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED!
APG PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
Wednesday, 7 August 2002, DoubleTree Hotel, Ontario, California
In conjunction with the Federation of Genealogical Societies'
Conference
Have you registered for the Fifth Annual APG Professional Management
Conference (APG PMC)? You haven't? What are you waiting for? Go right
now to the FGS web site at www.fgs.org and register immediately for
both the 2002 FGS Conference and the 2002 APG PMC. The early
registration deadline for both conferences has been extended to 26 July
2002.
You don't want to miss this year's PMC. Come to the PMC to hear great
presentations. The professional genealogist can't get this caliber of
speakers and important topics anywhere else. No other conference
presents such important topics for the professional. No other
conference is designed specifically for professional genealogists, by
professional genealogists. To refresh your memory about the topics,
speakers and schedule, go to www.apgen.org/conferences/index.html.
And there are bonuses this year! A light breakfast and lunch are
included with the registration fee. Rumor has it that meal prices in
the Ontario area are "upscale." These two meals alone could save you
$15-$20--and you won't have to leave a tip. There will also be door
prizes to add to the fun and gaiety. Come see if the president of BCG
wins a copy of the BCG Standards Manual again!
Ever wonder why some people also seem to be able to go to national
genealogical conferences? Well, here is the secret: Find a couple
friends and share a room. There is still time to make room reservations
at the special FGS conference rates.
The airlines are still offering some good deals for ticket prices,
especially to the smaller airports like Ontario International. Check
especially Southwest Airlines; they have had some great fares to
Ontario posted recently on their web site. If you live in one of the
seven western-most states, the Southwest deals are as good as driving.
Also, check the web sites of the other smaller airlines; almost always
good prices. And unlike some other recent conferences, there are free
airport shuttles to the hotels.
Don't procrastinate any longer! Go now to the FGS web site,
www.fgs.org, and register for the FGS Conference and the APG PMC at the
early registration prices. Remember, you must register for both the FGS
Conference and the APG PMC. The APG PMC is a special event with an
additional registration fee.
See you in Ontario on a beautiful Wednesday in August!
