Are you having trouble researching and finding information for your elusive
female ancestors?
Noted lecturer Emily Croom will give you tips and tricks to help you find
these ancestors!
The Five Hills Genealogical Society (FHGS) will host a presentation
by Emily Anne Croom on August 15, 2002, 'The Other Half of the
Story: Researching Female Ancestors.'. The place is the Grace United
Methodist Church fellowship hall, 101 W. Ave. D, in Copperas Cove,
Texas. This is a joint meeting with the West Bell Genealogical Society
(TX).

Emily Anne Croom is a popular lecturer for societies, seminars, and
community
groups. She teaches genealogy at the Houston (Texas) Community
College. She holds a master's degree in history, writes articles for
several genealogy periodicals and is an active researcher. She is the
author of the widely acclaimed 'Unpuzzling Your Past: A Basic Guide to
Genealogy', 'The Unpuzzling Your Past Workbook', 'The Genealogist's
Companion & Sourcebook', and 'The Sleuth Book for Genealogists'. She
has a new book coming out in early 2003: 'A Genealogist's Guide to
Discovering Your African-American Ancestors', with co-author Franklin
Smith. She is currently serving on the board of Clayton Library
Friends in Houston, Texas.
The newly formed (2002) Five Hills Genealogical Society serves the southern
Coryell County, TX area, Meetings are each month on the third Thursday, 6:30
PM,
at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove. Visitors and new members
welcome!
