Descendents of the "Durhamtown" Durhams will be holding a family reunion at
Durhamtown Plantation Resort on Randolph Church Road out from Union Point,
Greene County, Georgia on Sunday, June 9, 2002. This is the first reunion
held since about 1992. Lunch will be at noon. The special occasion is the
90th birthday of Frank Durham of Union Point, Georgia. While most of those
attending will be descendents of Joseph Vinson Durham and Hattie A.
(Harriett Ann) Toole married 1875 in Greene County, Georgia, anyone with a
Durham connection to the Durhams who lived between Woodville and Bethesda
Baptist Church in Greene County, Georgia, is welcome to attend.

Abraham Durham migrated to Wilkes County, Georgia, by 1787 from St.
Paul's Parish, Hanover County, Virginia. His son, Samuel Durham m. Patsy
Reynolds, daughter of James Reynolds, Sr. in Oglethorpe County, Georgia in
1801. Samuel Durham's oldest son, John Calvin Durham #1, m. Sarah Bowles in
1831 in Greene County, Georgia.
