BOSTON TO PROVIDENCE GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY MEETING, THURSDAY, APRIL 19,
2001
The next meeting will be 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2001, in the
parlor of the Original Congregational Church, Wrentham, MA, located at
the intersection of Routes 1A and 140. Plenty of free parking in the
lots next to and across the street from the church.
*** NOTE THE DIFFERENT LOCATION FOR THIS MEETING ***
The topic will be "EFFECTIVE USE OF FAMILY HISTORY LIBRARY RESOURCES",
presented by Mike Leclerc of the New England Historic Genealogical
Society. Discover how best to use the International Genealogical Index
and other resources of the LDS Family History Library, and your local
Family History Center. Come and bring a friend!
Future Meetings:
Thurs., May 17 -- David Lambert, "Native American Ancestry, especially
Ponkapoag". David will be discussing the Ponkapoag Indian tribe,
establishing descent from the tribe, and Native American genealogical
research in general.
Thurs., June 21 -- John McNiff, Park Ranger at Roger Williams National
Memorial, Providence, RI, will speak on "Roger Williams and Religious
Freedom". The presentation will include how the religious climate in
RI
attracted settlers, some from Massachusetts.
Refreshments will be available. Non-members will have the option of
paying $5 for the meeting or paying $20 for annual membership.
Admission is free to members. There will also be opportunity to ask
questions and share family information.
