Barbara is a resident of Orange, Va. She has been engaged in genealogy
for about thirty years. Her credentials include: B.S., Concord College,
M.Ed., U. of Va.; worked with land platting since 1976; professional
researcher since 1982, Virginia Genealogical Society: Vice-president 1989-90,
1994-9; President 1991-3; editor of the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy;
editor of Virginia Genealogical Society's Newsletter (bimonthly); Former
editor Der Kurier, the Mid-Atlantic Germanic Society's quarterly newsletter (1
988-95); Host Society Chair, Federation of Genealogical Societies 1994;
National Conference Program Chair, National Genealogical Society 1999;
Conference in the States. Her publications include: Orange County, Virginia,
Tithables 1734-1782; Frederick County, Virginia, Militia 1756-1761; Orange
County, Va., Order Book 1, 1734-9: Pt. 1; Magazine of Virginia Genealogy:
“French and Indian War, Land Office Military Certificates” and “Frontier
Defense Papers.”
