A big money saver for me was using the PERSI (Periodical Source Index) from
the FHC. I could look up surname, localities, subjects and could have ordered
copies of the articles from the Allen County Library for about $10.00 each.
Before I ordered the copies I searched my local library and found many of the
quarterlies there and made copies for much less.
Also when I go to a FHC or library I always look to see what everyone else is
looking at an have come across several cousins and researching the same lines.
