newletters have to say on this subject.

I manage a very small family newsletter which includes all of the descendants
of Michael Nowlan, b. Ireland 1800. I mail around 25 copies, 2 pp, 4 sides, in
color, once a year. Someone gave a nice donation when I started so I don't
have to ask for dues. I gather the info myself, and add any and all info I
receive on the family Christmas letters I get. This has helped increase my
Christmas card list a LOT! as folks want their family news included. I plan to
move to a totally online version with its own web page this summer. There are
great sites for instructions as how to do newsletter publishing, scanning,
etc. AOL has classes on this all the time.
Some of the things I have included are:
A description of the Nowlan clan reunion in Ireland, baby photos, older
photos, family homes, a piece on the origins of the name, family mysteries and
dead ends, probate records findings, etc. I ask for material from other
members but only get the past year's news from them. Good luck! Marilyn in PA.
