Don't apologize, don't agonize. Your quality will show through in the overall
body of your work as editor. People will look back and say, "See how far they
came and what a good publication this was from 1998 - 200x!"
Honestly, people don't expect that much from a local newsletter. And library
readers years from now will be able to figure out what to look for. I get 4
or 5 newsletters a day. You probably all do, too. I don't have time to go
through and check the TOC with the page numbers with the articles. I scan the
headlines for articles that interest me. And yes, I think, "what an idiot!"
when I see a mistake, but overall I have no idea which pubs have made them a
month later. Nor do I care, as a reader.
