Two copies of my newsletter will be on the way to Libbie first thing in
the morning. Isn't she great to coordinate this for us?!

I have just recently started a webpage for my newsletter, but it's
strictly for advertising/coordinating purposes. I don't see it taking
the place of my printed issues any time soon. It's been a great way of
making contact with those who are on the Internet and it's cheaper than
mailing them a packet of information.

My webpage contains the following items:

--a list of major lines in America (since mine is a surname publication)
--a list of the table of contents from back issues
--a subscription form that can be printed out
--a sample front page (just to show that it's an actual publication)
--a list of e-mail addresses for those subscribers who have it, along
with a brief description of their lineage
--and, since it's MY page, a chart showing my own lineage for this
surname.

After I had designed and uploaded these pages, I spent some time getting
listed on various search engines and other genealogy sites. That has
really paid off in contacts. But I still do advertising in all the
regular places for those not on the Internet.

Perhaps my newsletter subscribers are atypical, but the percentage of
those with e-mail has mushroomed from about ten percent to over
one-third in just the past six months. And this is not just new
subscribers who have increased the percentage. Many of my old
subscribers are now getting hooked up, and many of these are "older"
retired folks!

Sure is great to see this list generating some enthusiasm!
