Keith - I publish the Orrell Family Association newsletter. I currently
write anywhere from 50 - 70 pages per quarterly issue. I charge $25 per
year and asked for extra donations.

I have created an "Orrell Hall of Fame". Anyone who contributes is
included. I have a category for 'Up to $100', another for 'Over $100',
and even one for 'Up to $500'.

The extra money is really needed. We put copies on file at the Library
of Congress, DAR, NGS, MD State Archives, MD Historical Society, MD
State Library, Salt Lake City, Wisconsin Historical Soc, and maybe a few
others. These copies are all donations.

Every few years we bind up the newsletter into a book and go through the
same process again. This really adds up.

But remember this - while you certainly love what you are doing - your
real reward is knowing that you are preserving your family history for
years to come for others. However, unless you are independantly
wealthy, it is difficult to undertake all of the expenses yourself.
