That black background and black text comes to you through the
courtesy of Bill Gates, and subscribers who post to mailing lists
using MS Outlook Express without turning off the HTML in their postings.

CMechlingB: did you observe this in a message in the regular
mode or digest mode? Are you using a Mac to read your mail?
Other lists have had the problem, and it always seemed to happen
when they used a Mac to read the digest.

Gen-editor-l owner: Try putting "<PLAINTEXT>" at the end of your
administrivia file. That should cure this problem in the digest
version, once and for all.
