The advertising that has appeared on this list in the last couple of days is
a spam. The list has been spammed by an outside source. All of these
removed messages are meant for the advertiser by go back to the list instead.
..... somewhat confusing but it is the same thing that killed Maiser. This
is why my lists (Ballard & Hite lists) are closed to members only. It
prevents spams....

Now, back on subject.
We have mentioned the subject of advertising or not accepting advertisements
in our newsletters. I have always been against it, until now. I have changed
my mind and will now permit one page of advertising per issue. I will limit
it to genealogical advertising only. For those of you that have been down
this road, are there any pit falls in this? I thought it better to accept
only business card size ads. What are the pros and cons of accepting the
advertising?
