Re: what are the duties of the genealogy newsletter editor. I think its
chief , cook, and bottle washer.

I and my cousin publish a family newsletter. She and I are listed as
Co-Editors, Co-Historians. We also organized a family association.

Before we drafted our by-laws and constitution, and elected (forced)
officers, three of us did it all. But we decided that if we were going to do
the newsletter- justice, that others would have to take part of the
responsibility.

So now we have a President, Vice-President, 2 second Vice-Presidents,
Secretary and Treasurer. Co-Editors and Co-Historians.

We have been very fortunate that several of the members, have agreed to write
columns in the newsletter. I also have a discussion list on line, that is
the same name of the newsletter. and I offered them the option as to
whether or not they would like to post their roll call and who they were and
what names they were researching. I ended up with about 10.

An editor, is like a president. You dole out the jobs to others, so you can
concentrate on the genealogy part of it, and the editorial part. and you pray
it works out that way.

My sister is the new President, and she is responsible for arranging for the
reunion next year, and all that good stuff, that we have been doing for the
past two years.

I was the editor/genealogist, president, treasurer, one cousin ws doing
research for me at the library., and handling the reunion. the other cousin
is and was the publisher of the newsletter, and all the jobs that go with it.
