Thanks Libbie for sharing your insights into your family newsletter.
Hopefully, I can learn from your experiences.

I've found that I am in a unique situation. When I first decided to
begin a newsletter I compiled a mailing list consisting of those
descendants of my great-grandparents. At that time in my research I
had just begun learning something about my great-grandfather's
grandfather and thought my aunts, uncles and cousins would like to
know this stuff. Soon after my planning and design of the newsletter I
found that there was a Southern Bean/Beene Association which produces
a newsletter. So I'm kind of in the middle. As I research and learn
more about my Beene ancestors beyond my great-grandfather I plan to
pass this on to the descendants of my great-grandparents. I know this
is kind of like doing genealogy backwards (focusing on my current
family, instead of my ancestors) but my biggest reason for doing this
newsletter is to encourage communication between my large extended
family. I have no plans of sending my newsletter on to all the other
Beenes I've met outside my own family. Maybe I should re-phrase that.
I don't have plans of making these new cousins subscribers. You are
probably sayng I won't be able to afford this, but I have a big
family. And maybe this will keep some of my workload down. Thanks and
keep the ideas coming.
