Hi,
I am researching the following families: BELL, RICE, BURFORD & WOODLIFF. I would like to correspond with any who are related to these people.
(Col. Hiram Parks Bell was my lst cousin 4x removed),
I Would like to have information on the children of AUGUSTUS H. and MARY ATLANTIC RICE WOODLIFF. (Jane, b. abt 1873, Emma S. b. Nov 6,1874, Thomas J, b. Feb 20, 1876, Addia, abt 1877, and Bettie Pearl b. Jul 1888.
Mary Atlantic is my line. Her parents were BENJAMIN JACKSON AND SUSAN BURFORD RICE. SUSAN'S parents were THOMAS WADE and ESTER MAJOR BURFORD.
My understanding is that this Thomas Wade Burford
surveyed the town of Cumming, Ga., April 20, 1833, and that there is a historical marker on the lawn of the courthouse which gives this record. I understand he was also a schoolteacher and he fought in the War of 1812. If anyone knows anything about this marker or has seen it, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks. Lanelle
