The Kelly family moved from NC to Habersham County GA in the 1820s then to Cherokee County in the 1830s. When Forsyth County was formed, the county line apparently divided the Kelly land. Kellys are listed in Cheorkee & Forsyth County in 1850. Hiram, his second family, daughter Sarah E. & husband Joshua C Ellis & family; Joseph & Family; and Dr Jesse R. Kelly moved to Arkansas in the 1850s and are listed in the 1860 Census in AR (Madison & Washington Counties). Hiram died in 1862 and Joseph was killed by bushwackers in 1863.
