Subject: Hardy Griffin of 1850 Forsyth in old will books

Hi Listers,

My ancestor, Hardy Griffin, had his last household recorded in the 1850 census. I'm told that SOME of the county's probate records are missing for the 1850-1860 period. Hardy's sons, Asa Griffin, James Griffin, John Griffin (my ancestor), and Andrew Griffin, are found in the 1860 Morgan Co., AL, census - but no Hardy. So, he very likely died in Forsyth Co.

I would REALLY appreciate it if a Forsyth resident could check the index for Will Book A (1856-1892) to see if Hardy Griffin is listed there, recognizing that he may have died before 1856. If he turns up in the Index, I'll then look into getting a copy of his will from a county archivist.
