I am pretty sure that Joy Lamb Clark did the Bannister family for Don's Book.
I know she used to go and talk to Lora Dooley quite a bit.
She transcribed the Indian valuations for another of Don's books.
She is deceased.
She gave me the 1860 census transcription several years before she died. I
asked her son for permission to put it online.
If she got the picture from Lora Dooley, Lora's son might have it.
Several others on this list were close to Joy so you may get a better answer.
Also, Don should have the original pictures. You might ask him for a copy.

I also thought I'd pose a question to the list. In Don Shadburn's book,
Pioneer Families of Forsyth County, there is a group photograph of Powell
Banister and Elizabeth Dooley's family around 1894-1895. 1) does anyone
know who contributed the picture, and 2) if so, how can I contact them? I
would love to have a copy -- it includes the only picture I have ever seen
of my 2nd great-grandmother, Roxie Viola Pruitt Bannister.
