Subject: [GAFORSYT] Chestatee Lodge Returns 1883 - Partial
Date: Sun, 21 Mar 2004 18:45:46 -0500

I only received one page for this year. It lists the lodge and year and
shows the officers and positions held as well as where and when the
Freemasons from this lodge met. I did not receive any of the list of
members in good standing.

"Returns to the Grand Lodge of Georgia,
1883
By Chestatee Lodge, No. 102
Held at Wooley's Ford
County of Dawson
For Year ending August 31st, 5883

Post Office,
Dixon County of Dawson [This line is not on the forms for 1881 and 1882 I
received copies of. Why the county is now Dawson is a puzzle.]

Officers:
Mathew Cox W.M.
John Mauldin S.W.
JML McClure J.W.
I M Jay Treasurer
JS TaylorSecretary
AD Bell S.D.
JC Jay J.D.
JC Singleton S. Steward
Eli Mooney J. Steward [I think that's the surname written]
IE Jay Tyler

Time of Regular Meeting:
2nd Tuesdays 7 oclock PM each month

Be careful and write very plain."

I would be very interested in corresponding with anyone related to this
John Mauldin to determine if there's any connection with my line of
Mauldins. My great-grandmother was Obedience Roxanna Mauldin, daughter of
Andrew M. and Nancy Mauldin from Pickens County, South Carolina, who
married William Harleston Kennemore and came to Forsyth County, Georgia.
Andrew is my current Mauldin brick wall.
