I would be interested in this info. too, about the trial of Mr. Roper as I
have some Ropers connected to my family in Edgefield Co., SC and to my
husband's family in GA.

I don't know where they were from for sure, so this might give me some
hints.

These are the families I have a very little about:

.. +Cicero Columbus DODD b: June 12, 1842 in Hall Co, GA m: December 25,
1862 in assume Banks Co. Ga. d: December 27, 1920 in Ga. Father: Elijah
Dodd Mother: Mary Ann "Anna" Shore
.... 2 Harvey A. DODD b: Abt. 1864 in GA
.... 2 Richard N. DODD b: Abt. 1872 in GA
.... 2 Lilly D. DODD b: Abt. 1873 in GA
.... 2 Perillse DODD b: Abt. 1876 in GA

Have proven the relationship between the two spouces as siblings, but do not
know anything about the Roper family to show whetehr Frances and James M.
are siblings, nor who their parents are.

I also have some info. on Ropers who were in Edgefield Co. SC before this
time. don't know if they connect to the same family, but note that the
birth place of James M. Roper is SC.

I am looking for a connection between one Nancy Coursey and a Julian Roper
found in the 1850 Edgefield Co. SC census:

1850 Edgefield Co., SC Census: A Nancy Coursey b. 1818 can be found living
in the household with
Julian Roper female age 50
Benjamin Roper 17, farmer,
James 11 and
John 9.

Is Nancy her widowed daughter? At this time all this is speculation. Could
Nancy be the wife of Wiley Coursey, who had wife Nancy. Wiley is not
found in the 1840 census, so assume he may be deceased.?????
