I saw your Amanda Hudson m John Holbrook. I too have some Hudsons from
Forsyth Co.
Amon M. Hudson born abt 1811 in SC married Mary A Foster . They are in the
1850 census of Forsyth Co. with two sons listed John L Hudson born abt 1832
in SC and Ira Hudson born abt 1834 in Ga.
John Hudson is my g grandfather and the Hudson family made wagons in
Cumming.
Ira was in the Confederate Army and was promoted to Capt. John did not serve
and my grandmother always said that he stayed home and made wagons for the
army.
I think that this group of Hudsons came from the Spartanburg area of SC as
Mary and Amon Hudson are mentioned in her fathers will in Sptbg. Co. SC. He
was Robert Foster.
I wonder if Amanda & Amon were related note the use of the name Ira in both
families.
