This William MARTIN was married to Letta PRUITT on July 9, 1840 in Forsyth
County, GA. He was born March 24, 1818 in NC. He was in Lumpkin County, GA
for the 1850 census. He died on June 26, 1860, in Auburn, Gwinnett (now
Barrow) County, GA. I was trying to find out if the William MARTIN listed in
the 1840 and 1850 Forsyth Co., GA census could be a relative of my William
MARTIN. It looks more like Robert and Nancy MARTIN are my William MARTIN's
parents, though I still need to prove it. I have not been able to see the two
censuses yet other than to order them so it will take awhile. MARTIN is such
a common name... <sigh> I will gladly let you know if I find out anything on
this other William MARTIN, born in NC in 1784. Ellen
