You know, that may be right! I didn't even think about that! Monroe, Louisiana
was barely more than a village with a heavy French population, and Louisiana
was barely a state back in 1825, so it would stand to reason that they
would not know there was no Forsythe county Georgia. These articles were
often copied from other newspapers, who copied it from other newspapers,
and so on....I'll post this to Forsythe Georgia too. Thanks!
