Surname: Skipper, Bruton, Paulk, Manning

Minnie E and Mamie E (Skipper) (Bruton) Paulk are the same person. Mamie
is a nickname for Margaret.

I am the G Grandson of Evander McCall Skipper whose Brother was Rev. John
Burnette Skipper. John had a Daughter Margaret "E" Elizabeth, born 9/14/1874.who
supposedly married a Leonard Dozier Stevens 7/7/1897.They supposedly had
four sons and one daughter nicknamed "Fannie".

I am trying to make a Skipper/Bruton/Manning connection.

I need to know Who were Mamie E's birth parents. Her daughter Helen Gertrude
(Bruton) Manning reported the
following on her Social Security Card Applicatiuon.

Mother: Mamie Elwood Skipper
Father: James Walter Bruton.

I knew Mamie/Minnie E "Skipper" was married to a James Walter Bruton and
they had the following chidren based

the 1900 Federal Georgia Census shows:

Vol: 31 ED: 74 Sheet: 2 Line: 49 Fulton County, Ga

James W 4/1874 Age 26
Mamie E
Willie E 7/1895
James B 9/1898

2 Years later after the Census Helen Gertrude Bruton was Born 7/22/1902

An informant told me that Mamie's first husband,who it turns out to be
James Walter Bruton, died and that she then remarried, it turns out to
be Elias D Paulk), 3/15/1910, only to die 11/10/1910, after marrying him.
To proove my theory

I pulled the 1910 Census and it reflected the following:

Vol: 5, ED#: 8 Sheet 27 (Soundex card is readable but he actual survey

is washed out)

Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, GA.

Elias D Paulk - HH Age: 42
Mamie E Wife 30
Helen Bruton SD 8 (shown as 7)
James B SS 12 (shown as 6)

Note the children from Mamie's first marriage in particular Helen Bruton.
This proove Mamie remarried.

Next to determine if Elias remarried and Mamie did die in 1910, (and most
likely is buried in Ben Hill County),

I checked the

1920 Federal Ga Census and it showed the following:

Vol: 3, ED#: 4 Sheet 15 Line 15

Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, GA

Elias D Paulk HH Age 52
Willie Bell Wife 32 Born in Alabama

Elias did remarry and Mamie did die in 1910 and the children went with
someone else.

Anything you can send me - (Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates,
Death Certificates, Obituary Notices), on Mamie, her Spouses, and children,
(particulary any thing citing her real First and Middle Name as well as
who her Skipper Father was - "if really a Skipper"), will greatly be appreciated
in helping to link the Skippers/Brutons/Mannings togeather in the Skipper
Family Tree.
