I've noticed this often with files from freeBMD, both from the
Transcriber's directories and from the public 'View image' part of the
site.
The files will always open ok with IrfanView, but not Paintshop Pro
which, as you say complains about an invalid Huffman code (which is the
method used to compress the image, from memory). However, if you open them
in IrfanView and immediately re-save them to disk using the same file
name, they will then open fine in PSP!
This applies to *all* the available file formats on the public page
(except of course PDF), by the way.
