GOLIATH - The leader of the Gargoyles. He is very strong and intelligent and
his beliefs are much like those of Arthurian Knights (honor and loyalty). He
doesn't fully trust humans but is trying to understand them in order to live
with them. He saved Elisa Maza's life when she fell from Castle Wyvern and
they appear to be slowly falling in love. He is the former lover of Demona
and father of Angela.

BROADWAY - Very strong and he loves to eat so he is a little pudgy. Even
though he can't read he is an intelligent warrior.

BRONX - The gargoyles' dog. Like a dog, he is very loyal to his masters and
fierce around his masters' (and his) enemies. Likes to sleep next to Hudson
and the television. Unlike the rest of the Gargoyles, he has no wings.

BROOKLYN - Second in command behind Goliath. He has had no difficulty
adjusting to the new environment and likes technology and rock and roll. He
will wear a leather jacket and sunglasses.

HUDSON - The former leader of the clan and probably the oldest Gargoyle. He
loves to watch TV and is beginning to learn how to read. He helps guide
Goliath with his wisdom and experience.

LEXINGTON - Probably the youngest of the Gargoyles, be is very intelligent
and has become a computer genius. He is the most technically proficient of
the clan.

ANGELA - Goliath and Demona's daughter. She was raised in Avalon but has
returned to Manhattan with Goliath. She is very clever and intelligent.

ELISA MAZA - Police detective who has befriended the Gargoyles. She helps
them adjust to Manhattan while they help her in her job when they can.
Goliath saved her life when she fell from Castle Wyvern and they are slowly
falling in love.

DEMONA - At one time she was Goliath's mate. However, she was instrumental in
the betrayal and subsequent destruction of the gargoyles in 994. She is just
as evil in the 20th century. Her hatred for humankind borders on insanity.
She now lives as an outcast from the other gargoyles, and is constantly
plotting the downfall of humanity.

Tired of all her plots failing, she summoned Puck, one of the Children of
Oberon, from a magic mirror. The mischief-making elf did not perform as she
had intended, but in parting, cast a spell upon her that renders her gargoyle
by night and human by day.

Demona survived the massacre at the castle by hiding on the rocks below the
castle during the day. Finding her clan destroyed, she fled, rather than face
Goliath. She returned later, to find him under the Magus' stone spell. Over
the next several years she survived with a few other gargoyles that she
found, and eventually built an alliance with MacBeth. They were bonded for
all eternity by the Wierd Sisters. Each would feel the other's pain, and
while one lived, both lived. The alliance stood for nearly forty years, until
she feared MacBeth would betray her. As a result of her vengeful nature, her
clan was destroyed again. She spent the next 900 years alone.

She is no longer under the Wierd Sister's spell.

DAVID XANATOS - The businessman who is responsible for breaking the spell
that the gargoyles were under for a thousand years. A tremendous case of
megalomania pervades his actions. He quests for power at any cost. Xanatos
found his true love and only weakness in Fox, whom he married. The honeymoon
was spent in the tenth century, where Xanatos was revealed to be a member of
the Illuminati Society (though apparently only a low-ranking member). He
mailed a tenth century coin to himself in 1975, and from that, he built his
fortune. Xanatos also seems to fear death. His genetics research and other
intellectual pursuits tend to focus on prolonging his life.

CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD He betrayed Castle Wyvern and the gargoyles by
conspiring with Hakon for the Vikings to take over the castle, although he
tried to stop them from destroying the gargoyles. His soul was laid to rest
when he helped Goliath, Elisa, Angela, and Bronx escape the ghost of Hakon.
