What makes popcorn pop?
Cooking the kernels. But you have to use the right kind. Popcorn kernels are
especially grown with a strong, waterproof outside that prevents the moisture
from escaping. When we put them in oil or expose them to hot air, the water
turns to steam, the steam buids up the kernel explodes and VOILA , you get
popcorn! ;-)
Popcorn has been eaten in America for over 5,000 years, and was eaten by the
Pilgrims in 1621 at the first Thanksgiving.
