Hi, Aarno
Thanks for the info. Thank God my ancestors were Swede-Finns and that the old church records are in Swedish, not Finnish. I understand that Finnish is one of the three most difficult languages to learn and understand.
I wonder why the LDS website lists the summary of records held for Kimito/Kemio in Finnish, when the actual records are in Swedish. I imagine that many people will stop their research because they think the actual church records are in Finnish, which they are totally ignorant of. I may suggest to the Mormons in Salt Lake City that, since the actual records are in Swedish, their summaries should also be in Swedish.
Once again, Aarno, thanks for your kindness. I can stumble through the entry headings for my other ancestors in Sweden, but the Finnish summary headings are a total mystery to me.
Thanks,
John M. Kelly
