John ERVASTI born Sep 1859 in Finland immigrated to US 1881.
Married on 30 Aug 1886 at Franklin, Houghton Co., MI to Britta Stedmedd/Bertha Kallunki?(who was previously married to a MAKI, and by whom she had one son Ever/Iver born Sep 1884) who was born Sep 1857 in Finland and immigrated in 1881.

John and Britta/Bertha had children...William born 17 Jul 1887 in MI and died Jun 1969 in Mpls., MN, and who married a Lillian__?; Hilda born Sep 1888 in MI; Ida S. born Sep 1890 (according to census) or 13 Oct 1891 (according to SS# Death Index), married Leroy Oliver and she died Nov 1975; Phoebe born Dec 1892 in MI; and Elmer John born 26 Nov or Dec 1897 in MN, married 1)Lilly L. Nivala 2)Ida Raemer Hill 3) Elma C. Grundy, then died Oct 1984 at Annandale, Wright, MN.

Bertha/Britta's son by MAKI, took the name of his stepfather ERVAST, and his line found Troy, Oakland, MI.

John ERVASTI obviously moved his family from the Upper Peninsula of MI sometime between the births of his last two children, giving the date or removal to Wright county , MN somewhere around 1892-1897.

Michigan records called him resident of Calumet, MI and that he was a miner and later a farmer.
