I'm just listening to Weekend All Things Considered on NPR, and they are
discussing the case of Dr. Mudd, who was convicted in a military
tribunal of conspiring to assassinate President Lincoln. The family of
Mudd is attempting to get that guilty verdict overturned.

As they say, the past isn't past. It continues.
