As I haven't seen a reply on the list - [and I don't think I've sent this
privately
to Carol] here goes:-

Flood's Ferry is near March, Cambs - it's a low lying area to the SW of the
town.

Not sure about 8ft Bank, but the 16ft Bank is in Christchurch - it is the
bank edging the 16ft Drain [or Thurloes Drain as it was orginally called]
which runs from the 40ft Drain at Chatteris to it's junction with Popham's
Eau at Three Holes.

I travel along the road on the top of the bank each time I go back to
Christchurch
to visit my parents - it can be a bit hairy with low lying land on one side
and water on the other, and a large lorry coming at you from the opposite
direction!
