Cambridgeshire Online Census Project

The Free Census project aims to transcribe ALL the UK 19th century census
returns in order to create an online ‘free-to-view’ database. The
Cambridgeshire project has just begun transcribing the Cambridgeshire 1891
returns.

There are now over 50 projects covering counties or parts of counties. This
is a truly global online project, so location is not a problem. All that is
needed is access to a microfiche reader; everything else, including the
microfiche and software, is provided by us.

If you believe, as we do, that this information should be available for free
and freely available, then why not join us? Help us build something for
Cambridgeshire family historians that is not just for us, but for
researchers in the future.
