Many thanks to all the people who responded to my various queries about these names (Bloom/Knighton) and associated research topics (Vermyden) etc. I will try to anser you all personally - but forgive me if I miss anyone. Thanks especially to those who offered to look up marriage indexes for me. We have now established that no Blooms existed on record in the County prior to 1755, and have had some interesting theories!
