Hi All

A hugh thanks to the many who responded. I have the 1881 census on disc but on rechecking my dates found that the person I am looking for would have been there at the time of the 1891 census, which I do not have!

If anyone has the 1891 I would be grateful for the list of staff in the house itself.

I am looking for a female, unmarried, 18+, named Smith first name not known.

Thanks again to everyone, in particular for the Archon link which shows that the archives can be researched by appointment - I have followed this up and hope to visit soon as I live only 45 minutes drive away.
