Hello Bryan,
Some of my friends have a different point of view. One is given below.
Your earlier message is given at the bottom.

Bryan Honey,
The English language was not exported. It emigrated. My Reveleys chose
America in 1768, all 23 of them. They brought much
of their heritage with them, including their language, their skills, and
even the name of their manor, Woodend.
If you have chosen to live here for 40 plus years, but still refer to us
as they, why don't you go back home?
Never take to sawin' on the branch that's supportin' you, unless you're
bein' hung from it.

Terry........
We Brits are not ignorant......... remember, we exported a perfectly
good
language to America and they have screwed it up........ they can't even
spell
properly. Even though I have lived in America for 40 plus years, I still
find
myself, periodically, using the terms putting petrol (gasoline) in the
car,
what's in the boot, clean the windscreen etc.
Hope I haven't upset the many American subscribers to the ENG-LIVERPOOL
site,
if I have, I sincerely apologise.
Bryan......... in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
